Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis Donate a Whopping $3 Million to Ukraine

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis are considered one of Hollywood’s sweetest couples, and the love they share is so evident for all to see. However, what makes them extra special is their genuine care and concern for others and the world around them.

Aside from being two of Hollywood’s most gorgeous people, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis also have beautiful hearts. They both give their time and financial resources to various charitable organisations. Mila is known for her commitment to raising awareness for equality homelessness and empowering women undergoing cancer treatment. Boys and Girls Club of America, Chrysalis and St Jude Children’s Research Hospital are all beneficiaries of her support. Her husband, Ashton Kutcher, is certainly no slouch for the charities he supports, such as UNICEF, Stand Up to Cancer, Habitat for Humanity, Declare Yourself and THORN, to name only a few from a very long list. So it comes as no surprise that they have started a Gofundme campaign to raise much-needed money for the refugees and the people of Ukraine.

You would never guess that Mila didn’t like the young actor who would later become her husband because he treated her like a kid sister when they worked together on ‘That 70’s Show’. However, Mila did have a secret crush on Ashton, and when she got the part, she was so nervous around him at first,” I was like, ‘Oh he’s so cute, it’s the Calvin Klein model”. Even though her first-ever kiss was on screen with Ashton, it was much more of a friendly, brother and sister relationship, and they remained friends over the years.

“I never wanted to get married. So from the age of 12, I prepared my parents for no marriage,”

Mila Kunis says. But love cannot be denied. The two Hollywood stars have been happily married since 2015, later welcoming their first child, daughter Wyatt Isabelle on the 1st of October 2014, and later followed by their son Dimitri Portwood on the 30th of November 2016.

I didn’t understand the people. I didn’t understand the language.”

Mila Kunis is an American citizen, even though she was born in the small town of Chernivtsi in Ukraine. When Milena Markovna Kunis was born on the 14th of August 1983, her parents never dreamt that she would someday be an international film star. She has a brother, Michael, who is a Biochemist. Mila was just seven years old when her family fled the then Soviet ruled Ukraine to make a better life in America, and she could not speak a word of English, which is why her parents enrolled her in a children’s acting programme in Beverly Hills – to help her make friends and learn the language. Sarah Curtis recognised Mila’s talent and took her under her wing, landing Mila her a few commercials and then later her first television show appearance in ‘Days of our Lives’ –  closely followed by her movie debut in ‘Santa with Muscles’ in 1996. Mila Kunis did attend University. However, after a year, she persuaded her parents to allow her a chance to prove she could make a living from acting, which indeed she has, very successfully!

“I kept myself so busy I didn’t allow myself to feel” Ashton Kutcher.

This quote from Ashton ( his first name is Christopher) Kutcher tells that, like Mila, he did not have an easy childhood. He has a non-identical fraternal twin brother, Michael, and a sister Tausha. They grew up in Cedar Rapid and later Homestead, Iowa. Ashton’s birthday is the 7th of February (born in 1978). Michael sadly was not a healthy child. He had a heart transplant whilst still very young and was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, home life was very stressful, and Ashton’s parents divorced when he was sixteen.

“I thought I knew everything, but I didn’t have a clue. I was partying, and I woke up many mornings not knowing what I had done the night before. I played way too hard. I am amazed I am not dead.”

Ashton went through a real ‘bad boy’ phase, convicted of third-degree burglary for breaking into his High School to steal money; he was given three years probation and 180 hours of community service. He was also later kicked out of the apartment he shared for being too wild and noisy. Still, Ashton straightened himself out and chose Biochemical Engineering as his major at Iowa. He had to earn his own tuition money, which he did by selling his blood plasma and working in the cereal department of the General Mills plant. Everything changed for him when a model scout prompted him to enter a modelling competition, which he won, giving him the idea to move to Los Angeles to give acting a go, and aren’t we glad that he did!
